For those who wonder if hard rock and country music will ever cross paths, stop! It already happened. In 1991 after the blow-up success of Pickin' on Nashville, The Kentucky Headhunters, in the middle of a two-year tour with Hank Wiliams Jr. , and in complete control of their destiny, moved even further from country music standards, to release Electric Barnyard. With a bizarre version of 'Davey Crockett' and gems like Norman Greenbaum's 'Spirit in the Sky' and 'Only Daddy That'll Walk the Line,' the album is full of groundbreaking, experimental 'what if we did this to country music.' The Kentucky Headhunters went on to win their second CMA Group of the Year, Playboy Magazine's Album of the Year, and numerous Billboard awards, with Electric Barnyard.
