What's so clever about The Proclaimers is that they can negotiate any number of radical genre shifts while never deviating from their essential sound. You won't be surprised to hear them dispatch BillyBragg-style socialist realism (Sing All Our Cares Away), but Craig and Charlie's narrative delivery is so clear that you almost forget you're listening to big band swing (on, say, Notes & Rhymes).
